    We are on our sixth day and we are visiting the town of Dodge city which the famous Sheriff Earp it was soo cool. Then the next day we slept in and just hung around the cabin. In the morning we are leaving for East Trinidad. Its going to be 262 miles!!!! this is going to be a long drive! ...

    ... on a mostly gravel footpath. Hey, that's not bad for a gal with a sprained knee! Doc said walking is ok; just no twisting. I don't have a clue as to how I did it but I'm glad to know it's not a bad one and should be well soon.

    The park is not crowded. A few fisherman come and go but there are only a handful of campers. The sites are some of the largest we've ever seen. You could park 3 rigs in each space. The drawback is there is no water at the sites. Sure ...

    ... morning at 6:23, still in the dark. Stopped at McDonald's in Las Vegas (NM, that is) for breakfast and just kept chugging along until we got to Springer, NM. There we headed on over into Texas and Oklahoma and eventually into Kansas.

    ... and Richard immediately set to setting up the fine tuning of the rear axle psoition having been too tires the previous night. The car seemed to have run faultlessly all day so we were incredibly grateful to Erwin and Larry for allowing us to continue in the Rally. We were also very pleased to discover we were now 4th overall.

    ... into the first motel we saw (as we both needed a wee), aptly named Wyatt Earp Inn. We're ready for some wild west adventures tomorrow. Or tonight if the amount of pickup trucks in the carpark is anything to go by. There is a bar and eatery right next door, but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to try it. If you don't hear from us tomorrow, you will know we tried and failed!
