We left this morning heading to our next event, (Toledo, Oh.).....so took our time getting here, was not in a hurry, so going to pull the trailer over to the stadium and set up for Sat's event which is going to be at the University of Toledo (Glass Bowl Stadium) suppose to have 21 bands competing....should be intersting, we have about 5 people working for us this show, so should be pretty easy ( I hope), anyway nothing else happening ( miss the grand babies) until next time CYA down the ...

The next day we drove by a few places near and dear to me, including my childhood home, my schools,and my sister Cathy's old farm where I spent most of my youth growing up with my nieces and nephew. Having mastered the Cedar Rapids coasters, We headed 60 miles back west today to Perrysburg, Ohio, which would be our base for the next two days. The reason for this trip was to base ourselves outside Detroit for the Oakland A's Tigers game. All along this trip we had heard that Detroit was not a safe city to stay in, so we have decided to camp way outside town and just dip in and out for the game tomorrow afternoon.

A misty damp morning greeted us at the Falls when we left. It was much easier to get out of town than NYC despite the 4 more tolls on various roads we travelled.
We got through the miles again this morning, had morning tea and continued with our very focused ride stopping only to refuel.
We had a bit of a "jam up" on the motorway with more road works - fortunately, ...

For those of you who don't know, I'm headed to South Africa for the semester. I will be studying community health and social policy in Durban. I head out on August 21st, out of Chicago O'Hare. It's quite a long journey over to South Africa, but I am so excited to experience all that this adventure has to offer, and to share those experiences on this blog!
