... all round, and food was already being cooked for us to take away which was lovely. The restaurant was a seafood one located at the end of a pier that you can drive down. And as we walked back to the car we were met with a chorus of sea lions, which were all hanging out under the pier. In the dark we climbed down some stairs to the lower level and I managed to glimpse some less than 10 ft away, through the steps, which I found very cool.
... to the reviews is a very quaint combination lodging accommodation and American restaurant, with a gift shop, mill shop and various other outlets on site. The hotel is classed as a "Boutique Hotel" but looks very Laura Ashley type in style and typically American homestead. Next morning Dave Cox dropped by for a late breakfast and we celebrated his birthday.
Then it was on to spend time with Karen & Brent. We met them in White Rock and then strolled the breakwater and had lunch at Crescent Beach.
On Sunday it was off to Tsawwassen and the ferry ride 'home' to Saltspring.

... are fair trade, and a cute cow chalkboard for my kitchen - it was very much my style (not to mention the golden retriever who was in with his owner and got a belly rub from Darrin). Also hit a t-shirt shop and got a nice shirt with a black lab on it because it reminded me of my doggie. Also in Carmel there are all these little alleys leading to hidden courtyards - we only checked out a few, but I really wished we had spent 4 hrs ...
... certainly get excited over here about the strangest things. We continued the drive all the way to pebble beach- a first class golf resort with beautiful surroundings and a grand hotel. We were encouraged to take a look inside so we wandered in. Hilfra made a dash for the toilets. I think this is a woman thing to leave their mark.
