... stream flowing down a rock, rather than a waterfall. Despite the waterfall not being quite as we had expected, the view was absolutely fantastic! After stretching our legs we headed back to the car to continued our drive to Monterey. We pulled up at the motel where the receptionist greeted us with a friendly welcome. She gave us our room key to another lovely comfortable room. It seemed too good to be ours for the next two days! After unpacking we headed out for ...

... sights. The place is nothing short of amazing; a mix of garden design and arts museum mixed with the stunning views of the valley below and the hills behind the castle. Unfortunately, centerpiece Neptune pool is empty due to maintenance so we have to settle for a view of the ceramic tile bowl that is the would-be pool. ... lot of the trip was in the dark and we finally arrived about 2 1/2 hours late! On the train I got another vegan burger and some fresh fruit & nibbled a muesli bar - that was dinner. There was a driver at the station to meet us and he picked up me and a couple of Argentinian women (Paula & Paloma - I think they were mother and daughter). It was still quite a drive from Salinas station to where we were staying in Monterey. Checked in and time for ...

... a cone. A feast for the eyes and palate! Pete had the swordfish tacos and they were beautiful and delicious as well. We walked around Embarcadero St and drove out to the Rock. Lots of Sea Lions barking and sunning themselves. And that was Morro Bay. The packing started tonight for an easy departure tomorrow. We enjoyed the last of our wood for a fire. Now enjoying an evening reading and going to bed early. Off to French Camp for a one night stay before heading ...
