    Wednesday, May 27th : Today we toured the Sergeant Floyd River Museum, Sioux City, Iowa. Charles Floyd died on August 20, 1804 and is the first casualty from what was probably a burst appendix. He is the only fatality among the Corps of Discovery during the expedition. Also in this area the crew meets up with the Blackfoot Indian tribe.     We got a good night’s sleep and were up around 7. We had breakfast at the motel and were out by 9. Cool, cloudy and windy today. Good for driving - no glare from the sun. Pretty straight highway as we drive across Illinois on Hwy 80, which is a pretty straight highway and in good condition. There are mostly corn fields and farms and traffic is moving well and pretty light. We’re grooving to the ...
