    ... Roosevelt didn’t shoot a bear, and a kick **** climbing spot in a canyon.

    Another lovely state park campsite (pity the fools at KOA) used the whole day mucking about letting the kids play in the creek and got back on the rope the next day. Turns out we still like climbing! I think I just forgot how hard you have to try, Real, real hard! Rifle mountain state park is a sport climbing mecca, with ridiculous overhangs and pro’s everywhere dangling ...

    Up with the sun (well, sort of), and after a simple cold breakfast our permit holder, Jill and her husband the trip leader, Frank added up all of the costs: permit fee, car shuttle cost and food for on the river. The trip cost each of the nine of us a huge total of $121.00. Not bad for four days of food, lodging and exquisite scenery!

    ... just brilliant. My favourite were the Stegosaurus plates which helped them work out what on earth these creatures actually looked like! Three more Junior Rangers got to make their pledges, and some fossil-walked their way back to the truck. The rest of us caught the bus! Then on to look at Utah rock art, petroglyphs and pictographs before heading away from the heat of the Utah Desert and up into the mountains ...
