The wonderful library let me stash my luggage while I visited the grocery store. Nice supper of Stilton cheese, crackers, grapes & beer. The Headdons B&B is fantastic- comfy bed, great shower, beautiful gardens. I do need to use a taxi to get there. Tuesday was the ultimate highlight of the trip. Years ago I found out the the Axford family lived at Dunstaple Farm in the early 1800's. The farm ...

A bit of a blah day but only because I suffered from heart burn half the night and was a bit washed out in the morning. A day to do the washing and pack our bags. We still managed to fit in a bike ride up to Silbyback Lake and back to blow out the cobwebs. It's about an hours ride and the wind went right through you. It was very pretty but so cold. Kerry did the honours and cooked dinner for everyone ...

Kerry could only just fit under the roof and in some parts of the pub he had to duck under the beams. We were all served a lovely meal in a cozy room and then we headed off for our walk home ...

... use to haul their stuff up and down the steep cobbled paths.

At the bottom you reach a little harbour and we took a stroll along the rocky beach. Next stop was Braunton for a drink and a look in some surf shops before onto Woolacombe. We browsed a few shops and had a wander before beginning our journey back to ...

Setting off early from the farm we headed down the tiny country lanes, getting a little lost through some fields and experiencing some very wet feet from forging our own route through long grass. We found the woodland we were looking for and made our way through that and out to the coast.

From here we followed the coast path along, taking in plenty of rewarding views until we got to Hartland Point. ...
