Omg! The Rock concert is on again tonight! The bass from the DJ actually shakes the floor in my hotel room. Went to the four UNESCO listed 16th century frescoes monasteries today. This area is beautiful. It is up in the mountains, blue skies, light breezes- my kind of weather! The frescoes in these churches are unbelievable. We are presenting in Gura Humorului. So lucky, a small festival in town and I am fortunate enough to have a room overlooking the music! Drove thru some really charming villages with very interesting architecture but for whatever reason we could not stop for ...

... to drive me to the Border at Siret, but I refused. I wanted to go in a vehicle that would take me all the way to Chernivtsi. I decided to walk to the market, because I had read online that there are occational private vans to Ukraine from the parking lot of the market. The market was closed because it was Sunday. I briefly walked inside, and it sort of reminded me of the markets in Cambodia, even though it was closed.

There are nine painted monasteries in Romania. These monasteries are remarkable because they have murals painted on the outside of them. These murals are incredibly well-kept and preserved considering how long ago they were painted. They were painted in much the same style and feature many of the same scenes. Our group ...
