... The landscape is decorated with rolling hills, steep cliffs, fantastic caves, leisurely boats, and is lined with bamboo. All of the above is true, but it would have been perfect if the heat had not caused a haze to lie over the valley. Even so, we were amazed at its beauty. We arrived in Yangshuo close to 2:30 pm.

... as the stage. There were around 600 performers involved in the production. An impressive start as the surrounding mountains were lit up to provide the backdrop. Lots of colourful lighting, dramatic music and beautifully dressed performers. One scene had red material stretched from one side of the area to the other and over a hundred performers, standing on rafts, raised and lowered it in time to the dramatic music. ... everyone just made their way around it and carried on. The bus we had to catch was no. 5 but they were few and far between and always full. Four of us managed to squeeze on but the rest uPf us continued to wait. A private bus pulled up so Ting Ting arranged for us to go on it for 5 yuan. Much better. He even loaded our bags for us.
Caught up with the others and negotiated for another larger bus to take us to Guilin ...

... and we managed to rack up around 65km this time... a long way for a 2 minute stop at a viewpoint and half a pizza. When we got back we got the bus back up to Guilin where we had a train down to Guangzhou and on to Hong Kong. All blogs have now been updated with photos, have a look. The tiger ones are pretty cool. We have some other good photo's of China that we would've put on here but Jimmy's memory card is on the blink so can't get the photos off ...
