I got a text late last night from Sam’s mom who asked if I wanted to watch the sunrise with them from viewing point number one right next to their hotel. I was never going to let little Sam down so I jumped out of bed at 5:40 and was out of the hostel’s front door at 5:50 hiking up the hill. I had enough battery in my phone to be able to use it as a flashlight. It was so dark and at one point I got super freaked out because I saw two green eyes looking at me ...

There is almost no garbage in the water or on shore. It was a great way to spend the day. Guilin ...

... been fantastic. We rode for 50 km through rivers and rice fields, we saw long-tailed birds and water buffalos, we stopped at a village where men were playing cards and women were cross stitching – same as Ariana; we saw girls trying to catch fresh water shrimp in a pond and a boy fishing in a flooded field; we went through grave yards and villages with Chinese New Year wishes on their doors and ...

... up in sundresses and high heels barely breaking a sweat. Thank god the view at the top was all worth it as you could see the town below and the rock formations for miles. The further we rode the less people were on the road. Riding through small villages and along rice fields it was a nice and relaxing ride. For the rest of our time in Yangshuo we shopped around, caught up on blogs and finally slowed our pace for some much needed down ...
