... name on the transom, Reverie (as I recall) and call on both 13 and 16. No answer. The people aboard waved at us excitedly as we passed. Another call had the same result. Weird. They disappear in the distance and we do the same. We're getting radio traffic on both channels so the radio is fine. Maybe we're not transmitting, I think, but we used it a lot the day before with the tug/barge traffic and all was fine. Hmmm ..... The outgoing tide from Beaufort Inlet ...

They never taught any of this in Captain's classes except in a formal way. ... It was already 2 pm when we started so we figured that when it was 330pm we would just turn around and make our way back.
