I will probably do this and link it with one of the big climbs.
We had a picnic lunch at the lake and nabbed a nice bottle of red for tonight on the way home.

Tomorrow will be either Hautacam or Tourmalet depending on the forecast and the rest of the days plans.

Today was an easier day...we took the cable car and then then the ski lift to the top of the mountain and then walked down. We spied 5 Pyrennean vultures sitting on a hill and as we passed they took off and then flew on the thermals down the mountain beside us - awesome!

... beautiful. We got back to Lourdes about 6:30 pm and the temperature was 34 degrees. We showered and changed and then went to dinner at a restaurant downtown not too far from Our Lady of Lourdes. After dinner we walked over to Our Lady of Lourdes for the nightly torchlight procession, this time to watch from the ramp of the church. ... of the waterfall, which was more challenging than I thought it would be as it was quite steep and loose rock. The photos don't capture how large the Cirque de Gavarnie is, but in one of the photos if you look closely, you can see a helicopter at about the midpoint of the Grande Cascade, which helps to give a perspective on how large it is. ... doing a walk for the day. Eventually we arrived in the village of Cauterets which is a bit of a holiday hub for the area and a ski resort in wintertime.
