Edward met us at Reception.  He'd seen a note to say we were on our honeymoon and whilst he wanted to give us a suite, they were all booked.  At this point, it was about 7.30 pm and we just wanted to drop the bags, go eat and have an explore.  No, no, he was insistent that he do something for us.  So, gave us free brekki vouchers for the posh restaurant, and wifi too!! Our room was GORGEOUS!!! The bed is HUGE and really comfy ...

... Tim and I decided to be brave and head out to look down on the City 1,353 feet below.......It's fair to say it's a slightly scary and extremely surreal experience all at the same time and I'm not sure it's one I'd look to repeat in a hurry!

From there we moved on to the park often called "Chicago's front yard", Grant Park. The centrepiece of the park is Buckingham Fountain, one of the largest in the world and inspired by the Latona Fountain ...

... about as we enjoyed a late dinner. We had a terrific day but really just scratched the surface of this great city.

Family Folklore: After the boat tour we were starving. We came upon a California Pizza Kitchen and had a lovely dinner. There was a terrific breakfast at our hotel. When the waitress heard we were on a road trip she loaded us up with muffins, fruit and yogurt parfaits.
