Monday today. A rest day with no official duties for any of us (other than some minor admin and chasing up of lost property items for me to do)

Zac and I decided to join the Bus tour organised by the Scots College band members so we left at 8am for a "cultural" tour of Scotland.

The bus took us up the A9 though the Cairngorms National Park. A really lovely highland landscape of bare hills and heather. There must have been a lot of rain up that way too as there ...

... a little rain never hurt anyone (or my camera too much). The fog and must against the mountains were pretty cool as was the castle ruins that we got to see. Sadly, no Nessie spottings today, my eye or sonar.

Left Inverness and headed along the famous Loch Ness (no monsters to be seen today!) Long day in the car today from 9am until we arrived in Dunoon at 5pm with a few stops along the way.
Travelled through many of the places Dad used to speak about today, Fort William, Strachur, Inverarry, Bute and into Dunon to stay with cousin David and his wife Elaine. Cousin Janice here also so great to catch up. Few drinks to be had tonight and a home cooked ...

... generations down and they are still operating on the same premises as where they started in 1886 when the first whisky was poured on xmas day 1887! They operate all year round and import the barley from all over the world for this to happen unlike other distilleries who close down in winter. They have built many more warehouses for the thousands of barrels to ferment and we learnt that if anyone tells you they have tasted ...

... far as the eye could see. I felt that incredible connection to the land beneath my feet again, and in that moment, I felt truly Home. It was quite emotional.

After not too long, we saw two small figures running up the path towards us; Benjamin and Nathanael had taken the easy route, up the road with Claire and Hazell in her car.

We all enjoyed taking a few minutes to pause and take in the view, before heading back down again. This time Benjamin and ...
