Arrived safely after a great flight from Australia. Traveled business class with Singapore and get 10/10 for service and great food. Transferred to Lufthansa and again good service but beds not as comfortable. First day just wandered around Manchester and got our bearings. Busy place and very industrial. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza and loved it very central just walked to everything. ...

Even though we were both tired and aching we made a reluctant decision to continue on our way a couple of miles along the Leigh Branch to Abram. Found lovely mooring just a couple of miles out of Leigh, moored up and watched the Wimbledon final. Great match. I didn't really mind who won, just wanted to see both men play at their best. Enjoyed Wimbledon fortnight but glad it's over now as it does restrict what we do.
