We got there a little before Tobias and Fabio, but just in time for the evening show; young boys dressed as Paraguayan cowboys (with masks and everything) playing football with a ball that was on fire...and trying not to get knocked over by a man in a bull costume whose horns were also on fire!       ... of the trade. He fished a piranha, hung it over the side and a caiman came and ate it. It was so close we managed to touch it. He even gave Adam a try where Adam almost went in with the caiman as it got hold of the stick as well as the piranha. The fishing was on the bank of the river and was fantastic fun! We would put meat on the end of the hook and then it was a game to see if you could pull the piranha in before they ate the meat. I found that I have a new ...

      ... seems half finished but there does seem to be plenty of the new BRIC economy money about testified by the huge shopping mall we found last night where we dined out on Chinese for the first time this trip.It was about a 20 minute walk from our first hotel so far a standard Novotel which is fine but doesn't have the same group feeling that you get in a hostel.But the large comfy double bed,rich towels and great shower do kind of compensate.So we ...

      ... see so far ahead and spot big schools of fish.

      There were some real fun sections where the river got narrow so the current was stronger and we got sucked through quite quickly. You just had to be careful to dodge the shallow rocky sections.
