So here we are..... Santorini in Greece!!

Getting here was a little bit of a mission! We left Stockholm at about 12 noon and caught the bus up to the airport about 1.5 hours out of the city itself. Jumped onto the flight back to Stansted England and had to wait around in the airport for about 3 hours. Pretty good though cause that meant I could have a couple of drinks in the airport bar! The flight left at about 8pm that night and landed in Athens at 1.30am Greece time ...

Naxos, Cyclades, Greece malena.drela... we had bought a lovely ring the year before. After speaking with them about sizing options, it was decided we could have it adjusted back home cheaply, and without casuing any damage to the ring itself.

We then went thru the small but fascinating Santorini Museum, where entry just happened to be free for a few days! We were not allowed to pose in front of the exhibits but did take many non-flash photos of the various stoneware ...
Santorini, Cyclades, Greece oz09... used the life boy behind the boat to tow people, nearly tipped our boat over once and Scott had to bail so the boat wouldn't flip, jumped off a 10-12 metre cliff. It was a day of zooming around, drinking beer and swimming on secluded beaches. GREAT DAY!
Scott and I tried out wind surfing, Scott got his Open Water Diving Licence, we had a couple of nights out in town. Ios is like mini Ibiza and there is like 30+ clubs you can bar hop between after about ...
Ios, Cyclades, Greece stevencranston... Ya'll, it was incredibly windy up there! I could barely stand up without the wind threatening to knock me over and down the hill! It was crazy. We feared even taking Seamus out for pictures it was so windy. Then we started down. The descent began well and had good intentions of being pretty easy when we ran into a slight problem: no trail. We tried to improvise but just couldn't escape the extremely sharp and large thorn bushes or 5 foot tall cacti as ...
Ios, Cyclades, Greece scooterandlaura... as a mode of transportation.

Agios Georgios Beach:

We continued on our journey till the very northern tip of the island to a beach called Argios Georgios. This is a nice sandy beach and very quiet, probably due to its distance from the main hub of Chora. It was nice to have the whole beach to ourselves, save for only a few other couples. We stayed at the beach for ...
Folegandros, Cyclades, Greece xuanargi... Agios Nikolaos, situated north-west from Angali. It was quite a
long walk and the weather was extremely hot but our enthusiasm for having newly
arrived at the island made us very excited and adventurous!

Agios Nikolaos:

We enjoyed the walk to this beach from
Angali, despite the distance. There were many panoramic views because we were actually walking above sea level – we ...
Folegandros, Cyclades, Greece xuanargi... ferry ever. i slept 2.5 of the 3 hour journey so it really felt like nothing. We then caught the metro from the port back to victoria square and then walked the 10 mins to the hostel. I was over Athens before we even got to the station. i dont know why, but i dispise this place. its just a mixture of dirtyness, sleezyness, sweatiness and rudeness. i cannot wait to fly out tomorrow into Munich and begin my great tour of europe. i think once i am there the time is just going ...
Ios, Cyclades, Greece lovin_apples... the tiny main party/bar and nightclub street in Ios. You can barely fit two people walking beside each other down this main street (alley more like it!) where bars and clubs abounded. A little overwhelmed by the choice of places we decided to sit in the central little piazza courtyard and order a few drinks and watch the going ons surrounding us. If you ever just sit back in Ios like we did for a couple of hours- expect to be entertained! We sure were by ...
Ios, Greece mimmy21... with the dilemma of heading to the beach or the pool. I'll sit there for a while and then start making the rounds, chatting with friends, rehashing the previous night and such. Around 4:30 or so, when everybody is getting geared up for the killer pool comp, I have to get ready for work. I then climb up the steep-ass hill, eat a snacktime gyro and then sit on a stonewall for five hours hoping to get people into the restaurant. If they come in, I get a ...
