... a website with a wealth of information about Whitby http://www.thewhitbyguide.co.uk. Type Whitby Stag into Google and there it is at the top. The website has useful information on Whitby accommodation, places to eat and things to do and visit while your in Whitby. I would suggest to anybody that they research this website if they plan to visit Whitby. It was useful to read the reviews that were available on the site; it's always ...

Heartbeat country part 2

... for even longer and were spoilt rotten we had to leave and boarded the train bound for Scotland and we are very grateful to Elaine and Len for introducing us to their very special friends.

The train journey went well and we rumbled into Edinburgh Station without a hitch and will now see if Scotland is ready for the Griswalds .

Bye for now and talk to you all from Scotland

Getting ready to leave

In 25 days, I leave the UK for Kathmandu, Nepal.
My account balance stands at £665, and I have just under £7000 of debts to call in. Hopefully, I will have all of it by the time I get on the plane.
As soon as my latest cheque clears, I am on my way into Scarborough centre to buy what will be my only worldly possessions for the next 6 months.
It is at this point that I feel the need to explain to myself how it came to be that I am getting on a plane to the other ...

The first time...

... bless him, so we all shivered a little - but it wasn't too cold. I suggested he seek some help, which he did from the friendly guys at Motorhome Facts on the interweb when we got back home - so hopefully no more problems with him controlling the temperature from now on.

I found the site to be quite a good one...nice hard standing, not too ...

Finding A Way

... ve now discovered something new in England: The Working Man’s Club. Someone recommended this to us earlier when we were looking for help with our bikes and no cycle shop could be found. Then again when we needed a place to stay for the night. Best as I can figure, it’s a kind of old guy’s YMCA - only no health or exercise part. Just a basic place for guys to hang out. They let us stay for ...

More Goodbyes.........including Emma :-(

... very long time in Thirsk.

On Monday morning we had a very tearful time saying goodbye to my Mum, Dad and Emma. We are hoping Emma was none the wiser as Mum took her out for a walk and we packed and moved out while they were gone.

No one could have prepared us for how it feels to say goodbye to family. I was obviously ...

Whitby: Fishing Village with an Intriguing History

The yacht was already in Whitby Harbour by the time we flew in on the Helicopter, after a visit to Hadrian's Wall. They had to get a pilot before entering the harbour and also had to wait until the tide was running high enough to allow us to enter. Whitby was certainly one of the smallest harbours that we entered. Steven really wanted to see Whitby since it was near the birthplace of Captain James ...

Walking from Fryup

Yes, this place really is called Fryup! We, quite by chance, stumbled upon this fine barn conversion in an isolated spot in the North Yorkshire Moors. It was a 15 minute drive to the nearest shop - perfect. The moors are dotted with public footpaths and bridleways and there were a variety of walks from the front door. It was great in April but I wouldn't have liked to contend with the narrow, steep and winding roads in frosty conditions.

Road Trip with Alex's Family to Whitby

Got invited on a random roadtrip up north with my lifelong best mate and her family. Aside from having to deal with her annoying grandmother, it was absolutely gorgeous. Didnt have a camera at the time but wish I did, there were hills and picturesque houses everywhere!
