today everyone else has gone for what will doubtless be a very soggy hike up Kinder Scout. Having no raincoat and only one pair of usefull shoes, I opted to stay and mind the boat.
Between showers (and under some) I took a stroll to the nearest town, New Mills.
It has more arches than anywhere I've seen. It is built on the side of a very steep hill. The rivers Goyt and Sett meet in the bottom of the valley and the water supply ...

Can't be time to pack again . . . right???

... can spend some time both of her sons.
We all piled in the Focus for a ride up towards Leeds and dinner at the Hawthorne Farm, which does a carvery that has been recommended to us. We had a nice dinner, then back to the house for a while before we said goodbyes to Brian and Mo.
Seems like we just got here. On the other hand, seems ages since we got here!

... we obviously came off at a different junction and got lost. Had to ask at a garage. Ended up going back onto motorway for one junction and we found it ok must have been around 4.45pm. On ground floor and just outside is our car where we leave it until 27th. There is a NT walk round the hotel so will probably go and give it a go also have a meal either here or to a pub nearby. Went to pub Honey Bees ten mins walk away. Very nice ...

This morning we woke at 7am which is a big difference to the last two early mornings we have had, we woke up at a normal hour! We packed up our luggage and I had a quick phone call with mum on messenger and Skype with Steve. It certainly makes being away from home easier knowing we can contact them any time of the day.
