    ... more autumnal now (mid April); the mornings can be really chilly, and we’ve had some days of torrential rain. But when the sun comes out it's still warm and you're back in the shorts. Like England the weather can change incredibly quickly. The Kiwis are pretty hardy; they don’t seem to mind the cold mornings and rain; there are people surfing in just shorts and neoprene tops! Admittedly the water is still warm, but no way!

    We had decided today that we would take a trip out to rotorua as there is loads to do there but because it was the day before the tongarillo crossing we literally had an overnight there.
