... paddling. Needless to say I didn't think 'jump rock' was a great idea as anyone I saw using that rock was getting absolutely smashed by the incoming waves. Lots of dinged boards and bodies as far as I could see. Very popular though. :-/

The best spots to surf around Raglan during our stay were The Beach, Manu Bay and Whale Bay. There's more but these are the spots 'we' surfed and photographed.

We are staying at the local backpackers, right in town. The kids here are from all over the world but again a lot of Germans. Rain has set in finally, our first real downpour since our arrival, so not too bad. ...

... lake and grabbed some lunch. I have to admit I think I was the youngest person in the cafe by at least 30 years. It seems like a popular spot for retired folk during the week. After I ate lunch I was going to walk around the small lake but decided to head to the information centre first to see if there were bits of the garden I'd missed. There were Italian, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Thai visitor guides and none in English (I know what you're thinking, 'eh?!'), so ...
