... enough at Raglan Area School.

Ollie has also been very active, their team just finished the 2015 soccer season where they finished second in their division, not bad when you consider Ollie was a year younger than the others in his team and competing in the open division against some 12-year-olds.

He's also had a jump in a surfing and is now regularly catching his own big waves, and starting to ride up and down the face, still in one direction but with ...

    New House

Finding anywhere to rent in Raglan is difficult; particularly a place that takes a dog and that has some sort of heating for the winter. While there are some stunning houses around, particularly up by the surf beaches, they have million dollar price tags, or are all short term rents. So I've now swapped from a tiny quad to a 3 fin set-up, but using a small thruster as the centre fin, rather than a normal screw down centre fin. I've only tried it in smaller waves so far, I have to watch the take offs a little bit more, otherwise I find I can find myself spinning out straight from the take off.

... more educational ones (and cheaper) than the 'Legendary Blackwater rafting’ varieties, which the kids and I would have loved to done, but not at the prices they were charging! (also the kids were too young and light.) See Ollie’s description of the trip.

The glow-worm cave was the one where David Attenborough filmed for the ‘Planet Earth’ series, anyway to say the least it was amazing, and the raft trip was made ...

... people to get off in Hamilton, an Austrian coupled named Lisa and Gary (Gerald). For once I didn't have any trouble remembering their names because I used to call Lisa, Gerald, as a nickname (either that or she called me Gerald and I called her Harold right Lis?! And yes we're both aware that it's weird!) There's not a lot in Hamilton and one day would be enough but the bus didn't come through again until Thursday so I had no choice but to stay two nights. The hostel was ...
