        ... old towns sprung up around the castles. The towns with the nicest castles benefit from the tourism dollars it brings in. Like The Rock, Cahir was having some work done, so they weren't even charging to visit. That brings up a good point...if you are visiting Ireland with your family, make sure your kids bring their student IDs, prices of admission to most attractions is less than half price for students, but they require an ID. ...

        ... the Frisky Whiskey Bar. We sit in a booth just as the musicians begin. The food is traditional Irish fare, similar to England, but tastier. The musicians are lively and bounce around the bar, dancing and playing boisterously, inciting rhythm clapping from the tables. It's a lively, entertaining evening and we all have a fabulous time. The music ends too soon for us, but it's getting late and we have a 30 minute drive home. Julian falls asleep on the ride home. ...

        Yesterday, January, 2, I flew out of JFK ready to embark on a new journey, studying abroad in Cork, Ireland! As I was sad to leave my family for such a long period of time I was very excited to start my new adventure in Europe!
