... the dogs any longer. It was a sad good bye but two months will fly by.
Hey mama and j thanks for coming and seeing my stomping grounds and the little life i formed over here. and especially thanks for the st patricks day card, the easter basket, and all the hugs/laughs. (even tho some of them were directed at you mom because your going loopy). you make everything so special even from across the ocean. I love you!!
... tradition of kissing the Blarney Stone, which involves hanging the whole upper halves of our bodies upside down on the edge of a tower to kiss a lucky stone said to give the gift of eloquence. We then stopped at another few castles, beaches, rock forms, waterfalls, fields, overlooks, and forts. It was an extremely long day but we saw some of the most beautiful Irish sights we could have imagined.
... ice cream together on the way back to the bus. Along the way, we saw the ODWs entertaining the thought of buying an 'artwork' (fake print) from a street vendor. Unbelievably, they weren't late this time back to the bus! They must've been too excited to show off said 'artwork' to everybody who didn't care, and brag about how cheap it was. It was actually quite funny to see the reaction of our tour guide when they shared the news with him. I feel I learned a new language ...
... The tour is fascinating. We not only tour the formal rooms, but we have a tour of the servants quarters and kitchen area. The house has been slowly refurbished with period pieces as well as restored to it's former glory. The foyer is expansive and Greco-Roman columns denote the grandeur that affronted the visitor upon arrival. Everything was designed so as to highlight the wealth and importance of the family.
