Paul and Dara Versus the Volcano

... the crowds. It was an amazing site to have a constant view down into the volcano’s cone and see the steam and sulphurous gases belching out, with dramatic views down the outside of the cone into the larger crater within which it sat. The swirling winds constantly whipped up mini-sandstorms that stung your eyes and stuck to every part of your exposed skin, so we all looked like chimney sweeps by the time we got back to our hotel for a late breakfast. ... twelve-hour rickety minibus journeys. Ohhhh the joys of travelling! You really do question your sanity on these journeys... Nothing wrong with the parents also learn what their ...

... view of Bromo, and settled in for an absolutely stunning sunrise. Bromo is located in a much larger crater, so it is really a volcano inside a volcano. Surrounding the new cone is a desert valley, which fills with clouds at night. So you first view of Bromo is just the smoking cone rising out of a sea of clouds, a stunning and surreal view. As the sun rises you can gradually see more of the surrounding area, which contains several ...

    Probolinggo to Jogyajakarta-day 10

A travel blog entry by eiry on Jul 25, 2014

... park in Thailand. When we got to Jogyajakarta, we then had to find accommodation. We looked at a lot of places. They were all expensive and looked terrible. The city itself was a dump. We found a cheap and disguising place that would do for a night. We went out and got some water and settled down for the night after a long ...
