Episode II, Roskilde

... There were common streets between camping areas and as you walked down them there was just dance party after dance party after chill out party after gothic party all blending together from tent to tent to create this messy, crazy vibe. People say camping at festivals like October fest and Running of the Bulls is not like normal camping, and I think I now understand what it’s like. The campsite was just a huge messy party. Heaps of people had brought pull along ...

Last full day in Copenhagen

... 10:30. What jet lag?

This morning we went to breakfast at 7:30, then went back to the red line tour bus (we had bought a two day pass yesterday) and rode the same route, except this time we were determined to see the Geological Museum. I thought that we had had enough macro-tourism and was in the mind for some micro tourism. Rebecca agreed and we set off. The bus stop for the museums was at the Rosenborg Palace, so we ...

Last Week in CPH!! :(

I did all of the things left on my list that I did not want to leave Copenhangen without doing. Some highlights were going to a medical museum, going to the botanical gardens, eating delicious foods, going to Christiania, and suturing pigs feet. Enjoy!

The Last Stop...Copenhagen

... Museum" which were both about the same thing. They both had fun, interactive exhibitions inside that were entertaining. See the picture of Jamie next to the worlds tallest man (wax man in this case), and Josh sitting in the electric chair. We also did the "hop on hop off" tour bus which is always a easy way to see the main attractions of the city, and to get a quick history lesson. Last night we went "all out" and had a blast on our last ...

are we staying with a gangsta?

Woke up puffy eyed, but ready to go exloring. A power apple later and we are ready to hit Copenhagen as a tourist! Attempting to find the little mermaid proved unsucessful, even after the simple instructions of 'follow the japanese with camera's' laziness won and we gave up wondering round aimlessly! We did experience Christana, a small area near the centre of Copenhagen where no one pays rent, live where they want and party all day, what a life! It was very surreal and makes the ...

WE SAIL!

... was fast approaching and sailing was imminent. We met up with Carol and Bob on the Lido deck for sail-a-way drinks (soda's for them, Champagne for Michael and I) and then took a zillion pictures as we sailed out. What a beautiful day it was. Bright, sunny, warm. Perfect for the festivities. And for Michaels first on-air reporting gig! (see vid). But we were under way and once again 4 am reared it's ugly head again. Larry was ...

Halloween at Tivoli

... up through the Christmas season. We didn't stay long as there were way too many people but it did get me excited for Christmas at Tivoli as Halloween isn't anything (or so I've heard) compared to it. For Halloween, everything was decorated. Then, they set up about 40 different stalls selling everything from hats and warm clothing to Halloween costumes to candy. There were food stalls selling ...

... the local clothing shops look pretty funky and have a lot of locally designed clothes. I forgot to mention that every day I put in some serious research and ate Danish pastries. There are also some pretty good cafes serving good coffee. Once again I am left with the hopeless feeling that I need another lifetime to properly explore all the places I would like to visit, as I feel as if I'm skating over the surface, but there's nothing to be done and I pack my bags for Stockholm.
