Perth - my first precious memories of Oz

Two nights were never going to be enough to truly explore a city but I would like to think that I covered a lot of ground in two days. It wouldn't have been possible without my host family through couchsurfing who I was staying with. They made the impossible possible by working around me and driving me to places and giving me almost a private tour of Perth.

Before traveling to Australia, I was advised not to backpack around Oz by many ...

We polished off sixteen each and had a Britpop bromance moment under a duvet. The beer might be the best so far. We briefly saw Will and Danny who were in no better shape, before passing out.

      One weekend to go

A travel blog entry by chris_a on Sep 15, 2014

There is only one more weekend to go before we head off for our short break. Given Chris will be returning from Perth the night before we head off, all will need to be ready to pack this weekend if we are to set off at a reasonable time. The Prado has been serviced and minor repairs made to a broken fog light (courtesy of a wayward rock on our last trip north into Queensland). A 200-watt folding solar panel has been purchased to supplement the ...

The Guild House, my student housing, hosts many events and trips for residents. Today I joined my flatmate and a few of her friends for the trip to the Aquarium of Western Australia, AQWA. Two of my flatmates are Brazilian, as are most of their friends, so I have been spending a lot of time with them. They are all very kind and generous…and loud. They love talking to me because ...

      Back to the city

A travel blog entry by faraway-fantasy on Jul 02, 2014

... on the marina! I haven't eaten fish in years but I am slowly getting used to trying new things so I was pretty proud of myself!
Monday involved meeting up with Becky, Alannah and Sam for lunch, wine and shopping. Living this close to the city is a dangerous game for a girl who has nothing to do and has not been shopping in over 8 months! However I was very well behaved and only bought the things I needed.... a coat for ...
