... Works (very similar to an Office Depot) and stocked up on binders/paper/pens and all that other fun school stuff. I've learned that Australians use bigger paper than the standard size in the states, so I have a binder that seems huge in comparison to my home folders! They also have two and four hole punches on account of the paper being longer. I think that back to school shopping is one of my favourite parts of going back to school... so of course we spent the ...
Rainbow Bay, Queensland, Australia erinaldo1587... through a journey of history on a typical Australian outback station. Horses, cattle, sheep even chickens were part of the show and the performers demonstrated exhilarating horse riding skills. All throughout the show, a 3 course meal and drinks were provided to each member of the audience. The arena was set up in rows with table settings in front of each seat. It was quite a site. The food was magnificent and the show terrific.
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia marcia_octomanToday was set asided as a very laid back, not doing much day. When I woke up I had breakfast, put my bathers on and headed down to the swimming pool. The weather was fantastic and I used some time to concentrate on my tan and also swimming. When I was joined by Shawna, we practiced so stunts in the pool which we have so much fun doing. We swam around for about 2 hours before we decided to head ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia bethfisher... re-capping!! I still work for the Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries (DPI&F) but no longer work for Industry & Investment. I was moved to another building with the Trade, Markets & Investment team to set them up in their new office and do the admin until the new guy was trained. He's now trained and so I have now moved to another team called Strategic Policy, back in the PIB building again, just on another floor. I now float between this team and the ...
Broadbeach, Australia littlewiggleI found out before headed here that this was a big week for Surfer's... basically it is the graduation celebration for all the Queensland high school graduates, and they flock to the beach for what is known as "Schoolies Week". So yeah... me being a bit outside that age range (okay a lot) I quickly grew tired of this area and set out to explore up and down this area, known as the Gold Coast. I arrived at the backpackers to find a cleaner room ...
No teda, zalezi ze kde. V Sydney bolo dnes rano o siestej 12 stupnov. Ale to je studeny juh ...
Gold Coast, Australia mozi... out. Went for a few beers and Thai meal and chilled back at his telling him how much he was missing out on living back in rainy, cold, expensive England over a few beers. He wouldn't have any of it! Can't blame him really though can you !:-) Well thats it big TICK - Gold coast done. Had some cool times and spent some fun times with the Riley's (They are inside the room man!) and Si. Couldn't help but think though that the best was yet too come!
Sydney - Brisbane, Australia tonyjnorman... about 7 weeks now and he says he's going every other day! He took another decision to stop paying rent until he left on Friday as it had just run out and he couldn't really afford it after the price of his flight. We spent the rest of the night planning on how he was going to get away with it, which was straight forward and how he was going to get back to ****** Preston from London. I'm a bit mixed up with when I wrote my last entry but to cut a long story short I was ...
Brisbane, Australia bluenoseontour... cabin. I tried not to make too much noise as I packed, so I wouldn't disturb Lynne, but I seem to have a real gift for being far too noisy at far too early a hour. We checked out just after 10am and drove back through the centre of Ballina, before getting on the Pacific Highway and heading south until we reached The Big Prawn. There wasn't really anything there apart from a souvenir shop and restaurant, although of course there was a massive ...
Surfer's Paradise, Australia dandewey1974... in urban centres seem to charge by the packet for it, up to 50 cents a shot. My niece Ellen, who eats ketchup with everything, would put her family in the poor house living here. One advantage of having to purchase sauce: you get rid of some of the change in your pocket. Although Aussies have eliminated the penny, the rest of their coins could pull your pants off with their weight. The fairly discrete $2 coin is one of the smaller, with the 50 ...
