... and there is a great deal of renovation going on. I have been told, however, that there is an issue in getting workers for jobs such as building and retail. These are low paid, so these young workers are travelling to England, France, Sweden and America etc as they get more money over there! Lithuania is now getting workers from Belarus to fill these ...

I am so glad we are doing a lot of walking, as our family is very hospitable and the food is very, very good! Cabbage rolls, cold beetroot soup and a great deal of pastries and cake! 20 July 2014 Sunday was still in Vilnius with Vytaute. We had a leisurely morning, then went for a walk in the forest which is very close to the centre of Vilnius. On a critical note: there was a little too much electronic music going on at the festival, and not enough live music making. And for some reason, each main sponsor found it necessary to have its very own DJ-stage, which resulted in four loud stages blaring bad music without an audience side-by-side. Still, we managed to keep dancing until around 5 ...

... stopped to pull on our warm jumpers and jackets for the walk to the hostel. The wind was biting! The hostel was not far from the bus station, maybe 25 minutes walk, but we broke this up with a stop at the tourist information office. Here the lady had super English and could give us a map and lots of information about what to see. She could also sell us bus tickets to get to the Karosta region a little out of the town, and where the old military prison is which we ...
