At around 06:00 Arcadia slowly approached the Ocean Terminal berth and our Cruise was nearly over. We enjoyed one last breakfast in the Belevedere and waited for our disembarkation at 09:15. We sat and reflected about where we had been and all the facilities that the ship offered. ... I even saw a picture of the bathing compartments pulled by horses into the water so people could swim without anyone seeing them in their swimmers. I'm presuming it was for the women! I also presume their swimmers were neck to ankle... lol what would they think these days!!<br><br>I was going to have lunch on the pier but they weren't selling any food.. ah well you can't have it all your own way!

... it was a lovely evening, more cider if I remember rightly. I found out about what my brother Phil got up to while he was staying with them back in 1987!!! Apparently spunky is a rude word for something else in England!! And he frightened poor Frank one night by sliding his car across the gravel out the front of one of the pubs!!!<br> I definitely have to go back to the New Forest.. if not for the great people but the great outdoor life you can live there.

We had breakfast at the IBIS Hotel in Southampton and then went for a walk around the West Quay Shopping Centre and discovered the biggest IKEA we have ever seen. We went back to the hotel for about 11:30 and checked out. The taxi got us to the Mayflower terminal at about 12:30 and by 13:15 we were in the Belvedere restaurant on board Arcadia having Lunch. We set sail at 16:30 on our way to Madeira

Visited this town while I was visiting my Uncle in Portsmouth. Its a lovely little place, well not little but seems about the size of Newcastle. When it was over we were grinning like Cheshire cats we had enjoyed it so much. What a treat!!<br><br>Back at the hotel the bar was still open so we sat there re-living the show over a few drinks all wearing our new &#8216;War of the Worlds&#8217; T-shirts. We headed back to our rooms at about midnight ready for the next day.
