Onto finnisterre by bus
... there was no water at all and that the whole of finnisterre was out of water. We went out for dinner but many places we're shut due to no water but still found a great restaurant that served a delicious seafood dinner.. We had a paella and a mixed seafood grill which we could not finish and was a great way to end our camino and celebrate Cedrics 52 ...
Into Santiago
With lights on at 6.30 we were off to a flying start in the morning or more correctly leaving unhappily for a 4km walk towards Santiago before we could find somewhere for breakfast. The 4 km before breakfast felt the longest 4km of the journey. It was frosty in the morning and William once again had to wear shoes for about a km. our expensive breakfast of about 3 euros did not really spark life into us as it ...
Wet day in Paris and road trip to Blois
... move over to squeeze in a third car, to a woman in France on the autoroute driving in the rain at 140km/hour reading a text! Our BnB was just out of Blois in Fontaine en Sologne, a sleepy little farm village. Being Monday there was not much open. So on the recommendation of our host Josée we dined at the local Bistro. Bistro underplays this little place as its cuisine was more ...
Chateau, chateau
... centuries. In one section, you turn a corner and smell the sweet scent of a huge rose garden. From the flowers in these gardens are created exquiste arrangements in every room of the chateau. The paintings in this chateau were original and fascinating. Here also we saw the kitchens set up with utensils as they would have been, the butchering section and the ingenious way they used a little cog set-up to lower ...
The big cycle. (Nicky)
... we weren't going to go in to. The ride was 60km and after three hours of biking we came to Amboise. There was nothing eventful about the ride. We got there and we looked at another shato. We also had audio guides like at Stonehenge. Of course me and Ollie were complaining as we came back the way we came but in the end we put up with it. Life is hard when you are on ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsBrit Hotel Prema Blois
We stayed at the Brit Hotel for an overnight stop without any prior planning. Wanted a clean, comfortable motel style with restaurant so that we would not have to go out in the foggy and cold weather. At check-in the receptionist was pleasant and spoke English to suite our needs. We were offered a package rate of EUR 111 for a double which included the room, dinner and breakfast. This seemed a good offer for our requirements and proved to be just that.
The experience of the hotel was enhanced by the assistance the receptionist/waitress provided by stepping through all of the dinner menu to make sure we understood the dishes - great service. Breakfast was simple and typical French, with German style fruhstuck additions.
The room was clean and quiet, if not a little cramped, but typical of this type of offering. Good value for money for the purpose. Appeared to be a popular business person hotel based on observation of clients on a week night.
