... we have seen so far, is quite different. The houses are very well kept, the gardens are lush and full of flowers, as are roadside verges and public spaces. We're out for dinner tonight too. The group has a booking on a restaurant boat moored in the river port tonight. We have a big ride planned for tomorrow, 65kms or thereabouts and the day is forecast to be 31degrees. I was in this town on way South in May so I knew choices were limited for sustenance but Sundays are even worse. Two bars open and both were going to be closed at 18:00 after paying €10.60 for a large and a small beer....sacre bleu!

We then walked to find a restaurant and how could we turn down a place called "hippopotamus" where we were seated outside and next to the tram track - there is no barriers or lines or anything to show you where they start and the trams literally get very close by whilst eating.
Back to the hotel and settle for the night - a short day riding tomorrow!
