... many have obviously travelled on it in safety over the years. Views were great but it wasn't the summit that required walking another two kms up a rough, winding, steep track . . . I've come a long way and not likely to travel this way again so . . . why not? Great idea as the cross country trainers bounded past me but I kept going and so glad I did - the view of the surrounding valleys, towns and Pyrenees were wonderful.

The hotel, whilst nothing grand, looks a little fancier than previous accommodation - it has air conditioning and a bar fridge.

... t too bad - still early in the day and a pleasant temperature. Then we had an amazing long descent down beautiful roads - lots of hairpins before coming to the valley floor. We had a relatively long flat stretch then and fortunately, Terry, Dave, Paul and I joined a group who were moving along at a pretty fast pace and were able to work together taking turns to lead. That made it very efficient.
