... room with sun pouring through the windows. Fougeres is a beautiful town - hilly but so pretty with pretty gardens everywhere. We went out for an early evening walk before dinner. As last night we have dinner in the hotel tonight. The dessert we had last night in Combourg was unlike anything I had seen before , just delicious and spectacular . Unfortunately I didn't have a camera for a ubiquitous meal photo. I will be taking my camera ...

We planned to get up early and as it happened it wasn't difficult. Although our hotel was lovely and a prime position in the town, our room on the ground floor was pretty much on the footpath. ... or thatches. Their is a sense of history that mankind loves to connect to, and perhaps therein likes the magnetic magic?

The Notre Dam church (14th century gothic) we went into had a lovely atmosphere with happy tubby old lady humming away, cleaning, tidying candles and sorting brochures. They often have music playing quietly in the background too which adds to the admosphere. Outside was some interesting albeit worn stone work including dogs and pigs ...

... Anne walked in. So had a drink with them, which took us to 6 pm. They were off to an early dinner, so we went back to our hotel to freshen up before heading out to Le Vieux ville at St Jean area for dinner with mike and Pippa, mike and Denise Tapper. A friendly local cafe and had a local meal. Returned to the hotel, taking photos of the lights over the ...
