    Mont Saint Michel is an abbey in…the middle of nowhere, Normandy! When the tide is high, the water rises all around it, only keeping a thin road that leads down the middle (the place is filled with warnings about being aware of the tides).     We started our day in the Normandy region of France. Travelling approximately half an hour from our hotel last night in Caen we arrived at the Juno Beach Center. Once again we arrived at the perfect time and the students were able to walk into the Juno Beach Center and begin their tour immediately. The center is an excellent resource for Canada's war effort in World War Two with an obvious focus on the D-Day landings. ...

I haven’t done a lot of reading on German strategy in their Atlantic Wall regarding this particular thing.
