... were fab...really nice day walking around. Jason decided to watch villa on the internet instead of going to local french soccer game. they lost 2-1, maybe its better if he doesn't watch as they seemed to do better the last few games when he wasn't watching. Had a really good dinner tonight, regional specialty (crepes again) with apple cider.

heading south again tomorrow, and we'll see how far we get and where we end up.

... We were both getting sick of the gravel, and we didn’t want to go into the city anyways. What a difference the pavement made! Went from cruising along at 15 km/hr to 25! A very nice change as Brian was quite discouraged at our progress along the canal. Thought that we would be traveling much further distances each day.

We have moved on to Nantes for a day as we had seen a programme on TV before we left about a workshop making mechanical animals. We visited today and were astounded by this 12 metre high elephant and we had a ride on it! The workshops are old ship yards and form the centre of a regeneration scheme for the area. ... They are supposed to help you with the rent but I haven't gotten anything so I wanted to see why. Apparently the last time I was there when I turned in my green card, that didn't count. April 28th, 2009 This morning was awful. These kids are just horrble sometimes. Plus it's so easy to joke around with Aidan and his friend Hugo because they understand English that I forget that I'm the authority. Oh well. Then some girl came up to Cara and requested that she sing Respect by Aretha Franklin so she did. Then another girl came up to her and asked Cara if she would sing at her wedding. I'm totally not joking. She sings that well that someone random came up and asked her to sing at the most important day of her life. How cool is that? Everyone left after karaoke except me ...
