Another day in the saddle - following south westerly wind, small quiet country lanes, coffee stop in the sun at Mauran next to two English women, lunch next to a lake, pastis and beer in Evran and then onto a camping d'Aire for motor home. Toilet and sink made the 'rough camp' less rough. Tomorrow it's onto the coast and St Malo. Bon ...

So, unexpectedly, we are are pitched up on a campsite, have had showers and are just about to eat evening meal after wine and nibbles (see photo). 46 miles done, with a forecast of good weather for the weekend we are looking forward to arriving in St Malo in the sun. Now back in the bar for our first evening meal out. Bon appetite et Bon ...

... raisin we discussed route and distances. Pam suggested crossing the Saint Nazaire bridge an enormous structure about 5k long with a very narrow lined area for bikes. Very tense but it has taken about 70 miles off the route via Nantes. A very late lunch in an covered alleyway in a small town gave the very unexpected opportunity to blow dry the flysheets. Great now we could set off north towards ...

Cloudy start, but the forecast was good. After yesterday, dry was OK. But it warmed up and the sun came out. And we wore clothes - not t-shirt and shorts. The French are already in winter clothing - coats, scarves and boots.
The tram system is fabulous. We got off at the stop for the viewing tower and found it, and found that it was shut on Mondays! Never ...
