From the airport we taxied to our accommodation at the other end of Floripa, a 60 minute ride away. Unfortunately the day was grim, so we went to the township of Praia Ingleses to watch some football. I could only get five hours sleep as I had to get up for my surf lesson. I was there at 11 and ready to get going. The two workers at the surf school drove me to the beginners beach where I met the instructor. We were a group of 4 with two instructors. The owner is a young guy who grew up in this house with his family but has now started it out as a hostel with his girlfriend. They are both from Brazil but have perfect English and have lived in Australia. The hostel is spacious, has an an amazing kitchen, strong wifi and real bathrooms!
