... 7 pm on Saturday until 7 pm on Sunday. We enjoyed walking around the parks on Sunday morning and watching the different acts perform, and seeing everybody enjoying the sunshine.
For Sunday lunch we went to a burger van and bought a hamburger to eat in the square. This contained everything imaginable (cheese, ham, egg, sweetcorn, potato chipsticks) but no burger. As it did contain ham we didn't feel in a position to argue.

... life is football. There are three teams in Belo Horizonte, and different parts of the city support different teams. Where we are is on the edge of Lourdes, one of the posh areas, and the bars around all support Club Atletico Mineiro. The area we walk through to get to the cinema is a more bohemian, studenty area, and the bars there all support Cruzeiro. When a match is on all the bars and the pavements outside the bars are full of fans watching the televisions ...
... pet section, with the tiniest kittens and the furriest pups, not to mention ducks, finches, pheasants. The pets don't stay for long, the turnover is very fast.
We've found that the central market is great for some things, but not that cheap, so we also do a lot of our shopping in the local supermarket. It's a nice friendly place, although it does seem to be a bit of a meeting place for drunks, but it has the slowest check-out assistants I have ...
... the basket ball court in circles, so I have started to run around there a few times a week. Five circuits is equivalent to about a mile. You just have to be careful because some tenants throw their rubbish out of the windows rather than put them in the rubbish chute. For this reason the lady who keeps the area clean wears a hard hat.

Inhotim is a vast contemporary art park and botanical garden with over 20 different galleries and pavilions and then a further 23 contemporary artworks nestled amongst the Palm trees and rare species of flora and fauna.
