Instantly the standard dropped and the goals dried up, to the extent that they asked if we would set up a goal for the film. We obviously refused and said that it's not in the spirt of the game and if they wanted fixes and set ups they should ask FIFA! ... with a few people we knew from Korea, we all seemed to be convening in BH by chance so we tried our best to catch up with everyone. Between the football and friends though, we didn't seem to get around to seeing any of Belo. Apparently there isn't an awful lot to see, and good job really. But we had an overall lovely time here and despite seeing mostly the inside of bars and stadiums, it's definitely been one of our favourite ...
... supporters. I was now very hungry so I went for Brazilian barbeque at Farroupilha Grill. After the meal I headed back to the hotel and agreed to meet up with some England supporters I had met in Savassi, the local socializing place with plenty of bars/restaurants/night clubs etc.
I got to Savassi after 20h30 and the place was manic. There was a live band in one corner, DJs in one corner and then the pedestrianised street/square had been taken over by England ...
... we arrive at night with no where booked to stay. I shouldn't have worried, it was alive. Streets of sand, lanterns lighting the endless restaurant and bars, leading down to the beach where there were carts selling cocktails and live music playing everywhere.
