There is a huge evangelical cathedral very close to our apartment, and on a Sunday people drive in from miles around, dressed in their best and carrying what look like picnic hampers, to make a day of it in the church. It is a huge cream painted monstrosity of a building that looks like a citadel or the Ministry of Love in 1984.

BH Central Market is one of the few places I know where you can buy Havaiana flipflops, cauliflowers and a puppy in a matter of minutes. We are also self-catering a lot as the food in the supermarkets is of fantastic quality. Paul is mastering the art of cooking with beans, and I am enjoying the fruits of his labour.
It's lucky that BH is full of hills, so we are both getting plenty of exercise. In addition I have been running a few times around the leisure area on the first floor of our building. In the morning there are exercise classes downstairs and people ...
So the real highlight of my art tour arrived! I had been waiting to visit Inhotim ever since we decided to include Brazil in our south American trip itinerary. I was told not to miss it and so I persuaded zanna to make the detour with me and off we went, with my fingers crossed that it wouldn't disappoint.
