... Friday we took a metro out to explore the historic centre. There are some beautiful old colonial buildings, but interspersed with some concrete horrors, and a large part of everything daubed with graffiti. We took a small detour to look at the oldest monument in Sao Paulo which was a lovely old fountain that stank of human excrement and was scrawled all over with spray paint.

... with a friend, and we continued together to find a nice cream. I bought a dulce de leche magnum, which was heavenly. Dulce de leche here is wonderful, the nicest thing here. We decided to make our way back across town and find Batman alley, which is a street full of graffiti.
