28.10.14 Left Vaile Di Caises this morning under a very heavy frost. Thought we would outsmart Bruce the navigator and avoid the Autostrada. It did work and he took us into the Dolomites over Cortina above the tree line with great views which you will see. Without such a rush
today and the weather being a bit wet, we walked back to the ferry
jetty to catch a boat to Desanzano to the west and on the southern
shore. This was another larger town with a marina again. The
weather just was not inviting today and put a dampener on our walk
around the town. We enjoyed a coffee in a pedestrianised street but
decided not to wait for a later ferry but to return to Sirmione on
... We looked at a few menu boards but were not really impressed
either way, being surrounded by tourists all trying to savour the
same atmosphere. We walked along a side street and immediately found
a much more attractive little restaurant, obviously a family run
affair with just the feel we were looking for. The food was
excellent – seafood pasta for me and rabbit tagliatelli for Jayne.
The evening stroll back to the hotel worked off our meal.
