Clean, spacious rooms. Due to travel issues we arrived late and missed dinner with our group but they sent cold cuts up to our room without our even having to request something.

The room was too warm at night though and air conditioning seemed to do nothing to cool it down.

    Just what we needed

After our harrowing day yesterday a nice relaxed day was just what we needed. This was an optional tour day which we hadn't planned on participating in so nothing changed as a result of our late arrival yesterday. One adjustment we did have to make today. Although Croatia is a member of the European Union they are not yet a full member of that …

... ve seen on Cres! Then we rode over the bridge (a 20m bridge; the channel was man made to control the movement of people from the north to the south in the roman times) to a town Nerezine. These two towns are much bigger (still very small though!) than the towns we visited yesterday. We got back to Percy around 2pm, did a clean up then had lunch of fruit and yoghurt in ...

Windiest night ever. Worst sleep. It was like sleeping on one of those bucking Bulls. Poor Percy was getting thrown around everywhere in the wind. The day started by extracting sea urchin spikes from Mats feet! Too much fun at the beach yesterday :) We headed to Valun, a cute town, much more modern than Lubenice, right in the water. A cute little spot! Then we drove to Ustrine. We hiked down to the beach and had lunch on the rocks near some old ruins. Then we went to the ...

We were thrilled to wake up to clear blue skies! We went straight down to Mali Bok to check it out in daylight. Still not overwhelmed!! We drove to Lubenice. The roads are so narrow! Luckily we passed other cars where there was room to move over. Some spots we would have had to reverse a long way! We wandered through the old town of Lubenice before hiking down to the Sveti Ivan beach. Well worth the walk; it's beautiful! Clear blue water and nobody around. We were ...

... Rijeka was crazy - traffic like Melbourne, and Mat said he felt like he was in the favelas in Brazil. We were going to stop but it was so crazy, we didn't. We kept driving to Krk Island, where the ferry departs to Cres Island. Before we knew it the heater was off and we were cruising with the windows down!! Feels like we're on a beach holiday!! We booked the 6.15pm ferry, and enjoyed our first Croatian beer while we waited for it. Only a 25 ...
