A cold late start but stunning beautiful clear weather, for
about half an hour, and then the clouds came in. However it wasn’t raining so
outside with us. Still feeling a little piqued from the previous days exertions
we set off on a short walk to observe the Le Saut-Du- Doubs waterfall. Very
pretty it was too. The lake nearby had a lot of small fish in it.
After a slow walk back the rest of the day was spent on housework
Werner and I rode from Beaune to Liesberg in 3 hours. It was a short but good ride.
Overall we had an excellent time, saw some new interesting places, and were very good riding pair.

... our first stop for the day. This is meant to be one of the prettiest towns in France so it will be good to see if it lives up to its name! Yes it did! A lovely medieval town. Lots of old forts in the Lorraine area because of its proximity to Germany. This town retains the old fortress walls. Unfortunately the castle was closed for renovation. ... us to a trip on a ferry across the lake, which was a nice surprise! France is always good, feels close to home and we've missed their baking. We're at a small site run by 'Stan' just south of Nancy. It's all NL here (we have to call the that now as Gen only refers to people by the letters on their car) only one or two D's and no GB's (that's what Gen seeks out!) We've had the odd letter that we have to look up - there is S, DK, B, BL, ...
We were speaking to some English people a few days prior to heading to Mulhouse, they had recommended it as a place to stay as it had the National Motor Museum of France there - there was a little confusion as to where the place was as we had already seen the area on the map and were heading in that direction, the issue was we referred to Mulhouse as Mole-House, the couple we spoke to (could speak French) pronounced it Mul-ooose, the correct way!
