Clara an her dad picked me up from the airport that afternoon. They have a beautiful house! The only Brazilian house I've visited so far. (Not counting the favela house) most people in Rio live in apartments. We had rice and this yellow stuff which wasn't bad for dinner. Me and Clara caught up a bit on life and she had to go to bed early for school which starts at ...

Went our separate ways after that, but it was fun talking to a Brit and to hear her recommendations for my onward trip. Abandoned plans for any further exploration as the rain never stopped and was still going at 8.30pm as I headed for the terminal for my 9pm bus to Guarapari.

In terms of ecosystem, you couldn't get much more diverse than this. Isla ...

Rochelle was up and off at 7:00am Heather and I wanted to hit the beach and do a little more shopping before we had to catch our bus at 3:30pm so we checked out and caught a taxi back to the Vitoria Mall. Because we had all of our luggage with us, I sat and guarded the bags while Heather shopped. I really didn't have anything to shop for and it was fun to sit and people watch for a few hours.
It was cloudy but we ...

... so we had to pay cash for the pizzas. So now Rochelle didn't even have enough to pay for her taxi to the bus depot. We asked the concierge if there was a bank machine anywhere around where she might be able to get some cash and he directed us to a gas station about six blocks away. Heather had gone up to the room after finishing her pizza so Rochelle and I made the journey to the Shell station. Unfortunately, her card would not work in the ...
