For one reason or another, it didn't work out to stay with anyone else until now, but what we found is that even if people had to decline us, their replies to us were so kind and often they were apologetic for not being able to accommodate us. There seems to be a real sense of community between Couchsurfers.

We took a tram into the city from our B&B and the Swiss efficiency was evident again with the trams running on time to the minute. The public transport in Europe is really quite something. ... for half a day or so. The boat arrives and we are quickly motored to Hilterfingen where Schloss Hunegg awaits us. It is a 7 minute ride. We can see the Castle on a hill about a half mile away. We walk along the water at first and they have diving platforms that the local kids are jumping off of into the lake.
