Wow! Switzerland was gorgeous!
We booked an Airbnb outside of Bern in a 300 year old farmhouse. Our hosts were Natalie and Erich. Natalie is American but a German citizen now married to Erich who is Swiss. Her son in Canada has just had a baby with his NZ girlfriend who lives in Rotorua! We were their first NZ guests. The farmhouse and farm has been in Erichs family for 3 or 4 generations. It was about time to ...
We arrived in Interlaken around 3pm, and we were greeted by foggy weather and light drips of rain. However, during the ride there, I have to say it was the most beautiful train ride I've been on. During the 3 hour train ride (in which we passed through Lucerne), we saw rolling mountains, hills, endless plains of grass, just everything you imagine Switzerland to be like. I can't believe we are right at the foot of the Alps!
It was rainy, so the nice ...
