... and the road re-opened. After pondering whether to turn around and drop me off at the SkyRail in Kuranda and catch the cable car down to Smithfield and find a way to the airport, the tow truck passed with the recovered vehicle and we made slow progress down the hill. All's well that ends well!

Had a pleasant enough flight on QANTAS to Brisbane.

... up on blog. I was already on today's when the captain announced the start of our decent at 11.30am Perth time. It was 29* in Brisbane and arriving about 2pm ahead of schedule, it was a swift baggage collection and straight out to find a taxi to take us to collect our camper. a) they are incredibly efficient - when they say a train is leaving in 2 minutes it leaves in 2 minutes, as with show start times, restaurant closing times etc etc. There is no tolerance for individuals who want to dither or ponder!
b) everyone has been exceptionally helpful and polite, so much so even our children commented on it. Seats were given us on trains, strangers in the street would see us looking a little lost and offer ...
