Arrived at Las Palmas at 10am and it was beautifully warm. We set off through the city to the lovely long beach area. There was a wide promenade are and we walked a couple of km along it and the beach. Had a cup of tea and cake watching the surfers at the break at the end of the beach near the theatre. Walked back into ...

The 15th-century cathedral should also be high up your must-see list. ...

... Perhaps unsurprisingly, a live production of Evita was playing at the city theatre. Inviting, European-style laneways emitted the tasty aroma of coffee and cigarettes and smiling and waving schoolchildren skipped their way to the museum. Aerosol street artworks maximised their allotted space in forgotten panels of the streets’ buildings, cleverly executed, thought provoking but not offensive, a progressive mix of old and new. House prices have halved from ...

We docked at Gran Canaria at around 07:00 local time. Clearance was granted at around 08:00, so passengers and crew were able to go ashore shortly afterwards. We were advised that the back on board time was 17:30 local. We disembarked at around 12:45 and walked around the quayside to see for the first time, Britannia's Union Flag bow. The water was very blue and the port had a ...
