Since I didn't know what direction the train was coming from -I didn't know which was the front and ended up 5 cars away from the 1st class car and schlepping to get to it was interesting to say the least. Checking the map ...

... group that others have started pointing out dogs just to see this entertaining situation happen again and again.  In Kellie's words, it gets her through missing her pumpkins. I love it!  2. We visited St Marks Basilica, and discovered that churches do start looking the same after a while.  3. Some cafés over here have pokies. And quite often there is someone at the having a go at winning.   4. Everything is expensive over here. Except for one ...

... orienting ourselves, and trying to use our limited Italian. But we made it to the local super market for a purchase of cheese, crackers, apples, and red wine and treated ourselves to gelato before dinner. The girls spent a good part of their time practicing Italian phrases and memorizing the words for ordering dinner. Tomorrow we start the vacation in earnest with a tour of the Doge's Palace and a visit to the Jewish Ghetto. So we are here. Actually here. Thank you Hannah!
