... and a 5rm camera permit that you have to carry with you at all times . That's one way to get the tourist money! We found a sign at the end of the road that said Internet cafe! So we walked towards it like a bug to a light but it was the worst false advertising trap! It was just a restaurant with no wifi! Ugh that's just mean! The vegetable fried rice was no big deal, pretty crummy actually. But the hungry cat at my feet really liked it ...
... Highlands. We fell asleep immediately and woke up in Tanah Rata 2 hours later.
Day 1: April 26, 2014
After our arrival in Tanah Rata we started to look for accommodation. Unluckily we didn't know that prices go up on Fridays and Saturdays, but not just a little bit they are twice as high. We were first warned by two Spaniards who we met at the bus station of Tanah Rata and later we ascertained about it on our own. Oh, I haven't mentioned it yet....it ...
... this was our first thing on the 'to-do list' in Brinchang where we were staying. we found a little restaurant right across the street from our hotel and finally ordered the steamboat. the waitress prepared the whole thing in front of us and we only enjoyed the ready made meal that was really delicious. Stuffed we went up the road to visit the night market where we tasted the sweet strawberries in chocolate, grilled broccoli, yummy ...
... it would be rude not to and I have a passion fruit tea infusion and Mark has their classic. They both taste good, I even drink my tea black, which is impressive considering I don't drink tea normally! The cafe has an outside viewing area that has some great views of the plantations.

One place I like to visit before continuing my journey up the mountain is a quaint shop selling strawberries and tomatoes called Kasimanis Strawberry Farm. My family and I normally would stop here to drink strawberry milkshake. I make a point of buying some strawberries and tomatoes.
