Traquair, it pains me to say, dates back to Roman times. It also has the old continuously inhabited house in Scotland and parts of the house date back 1000 years, with 27 Kings/Queens having visited it. Clearly out of fashion now though, as it's been a while since the last regal visit, from one Mary Queen of Scots.

... trip, right!

Pub food here, and in Ireland, is quite good, and a little cheaper than a restaurant. So we are back at Davenport House...it is 9:30, and we leave in the morning for day tour to the Scottish Highlands, and Loch Ness. It should be a great day, though long, because we get to see so much of the northern part of Scotland. And I won't be holding my breath to see Nessie.

We are now in Scotland. We just arrived at our hotel for the first night, which will be a leisurely sort of place in the country. We got here early, before check in, so we decided to go for a hike.
