Being the new kid

... Don't get me wrong, they were so inclusive ! I just can't wait till I don't feel new anymore haha. I feel awkward and young and immature and out of it and I'm not that girl! I wanna be myself and it slowly came out during the night but being the new kid is rough. We went to a little pub for some pool and drinks and meet as many people as possible. The ciders are $1.80 aus dollars I think. Around about. And one of the boys bought 5 jäger bombs for 10 bucks (approx) ...

... to walk along the new tree top walk. As expected, at this time of year the flowers were magnificent. the tree top walk which is approached like everything in Cape Town by a steep climb, gave a wonderful view over the gardens and the city. Then it was home to start on the packing and prepare for the long journey home the following day.

... taking more precautions. Volunteers in the Child Care program were pulled from class Tuesday afternoon and program cancelled for the rest of the week because the daycares are located in Capricorn.

On Wednesday it was a bit scary driving through Capricorn to get to the schools. I was at Sullivan so we weren't near the area but the atmosphere driving was still tense. There was a shooting near Christian David school on Wednesday so the teachers also had to come back. Only about ...

Day 40 We left for Luntu Preschool in the morning, and sadly, today is my last day volunteering. Today I prepared and did child assessments on the kids who will be going to school next year. ... and the people have been cheerful. Turns out the boy who got shot was a Hard Living and was targeted by The Americas who had one of its members dress in the schools uniform and come into the school to shoot him. Everyone is afraid to talk so they do not know who shot him besides they were part of the American gang.
