... to walk along the new tree top walk. As expected, at this time of year the flowers were magnificent. the tree top walk which is approached like everything in Cape Town by a steep climb, gave a wonderful view over the gardens and the city. Then it was home to start on the packing and prepare for the long journey home the following day.

Gazing down from the balcony the scale of the District 6 becomes apparent. Ex-residents have signed embroidered banners, left personal items, photographs and valued memorabilia. Newspaper cuttings are everywhere sharing both the triumph of community spirit that was District 6 and its demise at the height of apartheid. Memories and stories captured in one place for all to share.

... SHAWCO to commemorate SHAWCO's 70th anniversary. We first took part in the media portion where a panel of speakers and representatives from Dell Computers launched the newest computer lab on behalf of a Dell grant to the township. Huge news in a community like this because it allows community members training they cannot afford to get elsewhere. This will have a sustainable huge impact on the area.
