Rocky and Keppel

Today we were on our way to Rockhampton but on the way we stopped off at a little place called Mount Morgan which is were they used to do gold mining as there is supposed to be a little steam train that runs to the mines unfortunatley when we got there we were told this wasn't working so instead we went to the little museum which was quite interesting (you know for a museum) After this we got to Rockhampton and the first stop was the Botanical Gardens which had a little zoo with a few animals...

... over the tannoy system. I am not convinced that such brash sloganning works, favouring a more subtle or at least humorous approach. But then, what do I know!

The game ended up with the Aussies making 480 for 8 and putting the Windies into bat. After a short successful spell of batting, the Aussies quickly got their grip on the game back to take 5 wickets and leave the Windies on 134. They should comfortably win this one.

Next blog from Sydney.

Meltdown........

... We watched the flight departure time get pushed further and further out. From 8.30 it eventually blew out to an expected 10.45. We were finally in our seats at just after 10.30 but due to issues getting the flight plan faxed to Auckland and then getting it back with an approved stamp, we didn’t take off until 11.30, a bit later than 8.30.

The flight to Auckland was scheduled to take 3:50 hours and we left Brizvegas after 2.30pm Auckland ...

My Australia Trip!

... of my group was, but that day we were leaving to go to Rainbow Beach so I didn't really have much time to relax, was feeling really groggy as was really jet lagged! That sucked, as everyone else seemed to be ok!

It was quite a drive to Rainbow Beach from Brisbane, but I spent most of the time chatting (not like me lol) to my friend Rhiannon! Kept my mind of feeling ill + sleepy!!
They all said to try + stay up all day so then I would ...

Sunshine versus Gold

... because the early morning and long drive were for nothing. There is nothing much to Tin Can Bay so we headed south to Rainbow beach, so called because of the differing colours of the sand. This too looked like it had been affected by the recent storms and hurricane Hamish, as trees lay broken and uprooted along the beach. If one has a four wheel drive you can drive along Rainbow Beach when the tide is out. However, as we were in a friend's car and didn ...

Maybe I Should Have Followed The Thai Stewardesses

... Well, go get some toilet paper" was Tracy's reply. After dutifully following directions, Sarah was back. "Okay, now go back to bed" was Tracy's next, less than empathetic, decree. It was at this point that Sarah burst into tears while pleading for help. Apparently, Tracy misheard Sarah and thought she had a "runny" nose, instead of a "bloody" nose. Plausible explanation considering it was 3am, I suppose, but not enough to stop me from haranguing ...

... I caught up with him again later and mocked him some more when he started trying to do a Mancunian accent. · There's a massive vehicle that drives around Surfers that looks like that digging thing from Thunderbirds, the one that wasn't an official Thunderbird, it was just kept in 2 from time to time. I believe it's some sort of tour. I never confirmed that, though, I would just see it randomly drive past from time to time. Hella intriguing.

Tropical Tempests

... four of us went to a Croc farm. We watched them be fed with chicken heads and were upset that the man cocky enough to join the crocs wasn't snapped up. He was the keeper, but still, you thought they would've learnt after 'The Crocidile Hunter' hunts no more. We walked around the farm to find Koalas and Wallabies. The Koalas were sleeping and the Wallabies hopped away. It was fun though as Reddy has the mental age of a 4 year old he ran around oooing and ...
