Good day from New Bern, the second oldest city in North Carolina. I'll start with some background and history about New Bern before I go any further.
New Bern was settled in 1710 by Swiss and Palatine immigrants led by Christoph von Graffenreid. They named the settlement after Bern, the capital of Switzerland. But long before the Europeans arrived, the Tuscarora Indians also lived along New Bern's riverbanks in a village they called Chattoka.
I did notice a couple of signs that made me chuckle, but not because they were that unusual, it is just that the wording on them was not something I was used to. still black and blue and grunts when he moves. Finishing off the trip this way is a huge sacrifice but we were together on this plan no matter what. Tomorrow, we shall return to the slip that Rhiannon lives in at Sea Harbor Yacht Club in Oriental NC. Most importantly we will seek medical advice for Drew's injures. Utimately, we ...
