To get over the grief of no blowhole I had fish and chips while I tried to work out whether I was going to manage carrying on with my knee, which by now was starting to struggle with all the climbing. I had forgotten my knee issues while planning this ride, so that will be something to look out for. The majority of our time here has been spent socialising. Lyn and I drove over to a Bundanoon coffee shop to meet up with mutual friends made through teaching at the school. What a lovely time we had after which Lyn and I wandered around to our old place of work. ... like it was worthwhile. The elevated walkway is perched on top of the Illawarra escarpment and the centrepiece is a 106 step spiral tower with views of the valleys and ocean. That's the theory. Today we could barely see through the mist and cloud but did see sun shining in the valley below. However we did spot of fluffy Tawny Frogmouth with a chick (or two?) in a tree right beside the walkway. There also appeared to be a wombat in his/her hole beside the path ...

This afternoon we arrived in Kiama - a very hilly seaside town on the clifftops. We visited the Little Blowhole.

After organising our camp we went for a walk along the clifftop to the Kiama Blowhole (big blowhole) and the Lighthouse. We took heaps of pics then walked back through the town.

... day of 4 hours of riding in the pouring rain. Oh well, thats the way it goes.

It was just so wonderful to see Charlotte and the kids, a big 'Welcome Home Daddy, Hooray' sign was on the wall. Nothing like your children running up to you with huge smiles and excitement and giving you big hugs. It just warms you and opens your heart. For an instant, all the worries of the world disappear.
